Professional Experience
Attorney Jeff L. Khurgel joined Reeves and Associates at its Pasadena Office in 2006 and practices in the Business/Employment and Family Reunification Departments. In January 2008 he became a partner of the firm. As a former employee for U.S. Immigration Service at a U.S. Embassy, Mr. Khurgel is uniquely qualified to represent R&A’s immigration clients.
Mr. Khurgel represents clients before the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) and Department of Labor (DOL) in employment-based immigration categories, including professionals, skilled workers, investors immigrants, multinational managers, nurses, NAFTA workers, intra-company transferees, and H-1B temporary workers in specialty occupations.
Mr. Khurgel also represents clients before the USCIS in family immigration matters including citizenship, naturalization, family petitions, adoptions, waivers for crimes and misrepresentations, and for residency under the Child Status Protection Act.
Prior to joining Reeves and Associates, Mr. Khurgel served with the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services at the U.S. Embassy in Moscow. At the Embassy, he gained invaluable experience in family-based immigration petitions, motions to reopen, various waivers and religion-based refugee cases. Mr. Khurgel also served as an immigration attorney prior to his assignment to the U.S. Embassy. The acquired knowledge gained while working for the government is invaluable in understanding how to successfully represent clients before these agencies.
Education
Attorney Khurgel obtained his a Bachelor of Arts Degree, Cum Laude, from California State University Long Beach in 1999 and obtained his Juris Doctor (J.D.) from Pepperdine School of Law with a Certificate in Alternative Dispute Resolution in 2002.
Licenses and Memberships
He is licensed to practice law before the Supreme Court, 9th Circuit Court of Appeals, and U.S. District Court for the Central District of California. He is a member of the American Immigration Lawyers Association, the California State Bar, the Los Angeles County Immigration Bar and the Pasadena Bar.
