Professional Experience
Ms. Larios-Shah joined Reeves & Associates in August 2005, as an associate attorney in both the Detention and Removal Defense Department and the Family Immigration and Naturalization Department at the Corporate Headquarters in Pasadena, California.
Prior to joining Reeves & Associates, Ms. Larios-Shah was in private practice and has extensive experience in the field of immigration law. Ms. Larios-Shah has represented individuals in deportation/removal proceedings before the Immigration Court, and the Board of Immigration Appeals (BIA). Additionally, she has represented clients before the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) for adjustment of status, naturalization, NACARA, asylum, and waivers.
During law school, Ms. Larios worked at the San Pedro Community Legal Services, focusing on assisting victims of domestic violence with their immigration matters. She also worked as a law clerk for the Inner City Law Center and the Orange County District Attorney's Office. She was also an instructor in the Street Law Program. Ms. Larios was the recipient of the distinguished scholarship from the Foundation of the State Bar of California.
Education
Lorena Larios-Shah earned her Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree with honors in Political Science from the University of California Los Angeles. She obtained her Juris Doctor (J.D.) from Whittier Law School, cum laude, in May 2003.
Memberships and Activities
Ms. Larios-Shah was admitted to the California State Bar in December 2003. She is also admitted to practice before the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California. She is a member of the American Bar Association, the Los Angeles County Bar Association, and the Mexican American Bar Association.
