Professional Experience
Eric R. Welsh is an associate attorney in Reeves & Associates’ Detention & Removal Defense and Appellate Departments. Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Welsh served as Attorney Advisor for two years to the Los Angeles Immigration Courts, under the U.S. Department of Justice. In this position, Mr. Welsh worked closely with the Los Angeles immigration judges, drafting court opinions and contributing to judicial decision-making in complex cases.
After working with the Department of Justice, Mr. Welsh worked in the civil litigation department of Musick Peeler & Garrett, LLP, a California-based law firm, representing clients in complex litigation in matters ranging from toxic torts to professional malpractice.
Education
Mr. Welsh earned his Juris Doctor from Brooklyn Law School, graduating magna cum laude. While in law school, Mr. Welsh served as the Executive Notes & Comments Editor of the Brooklyn Law School Journal of International Law. As a member of the school’s Safe Harbor Clinic, Mr. Welsh assisted noncitizens seeking asylum before the Immigration Court in New York City, and also argued a Petition for Appeal before the Second Circuit Court of Appeals. He completed an internship with the USCIS Northeast Counsel’s Office in New York City, participating in and analyzing adjudications of spousal-based immediate relative petitions and applications for naturalization.
Mr. Welsh graduated cum laude with a Bachelors of Fine Arts degree from New York University, Tisch School of the Arts, in 2002.

Mr. Welsh is a Member in Good Standing of the California State Bar. He is also admitted to practice before the United States District Court for the Central District of California. |
