Professional Experience
Attorney Melania Vartanian joined Reeves & Associates as an associate attorney at the Pasadena office in 2009. Prior to joining the firm, Ms. Vartanian was an immigration attorney in private practice, representing clients before the Executive Office for Immigration Review, the Board of Immigration Appeals, and the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit. Ms. Vartanian represented clients in matters involving cancellation of removal for non-permanent residents, as well as asylum, withholding of removal, and protection under the Convention Against Torture. Ms. Vartanian also has experience representing clients applying for naturalization and family-based adjustment of status before the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services.
In 2003, the State Bar of California bestowed upon Ms. Vartanian the prestigious Wiley W. Manuel Pro Bono Services Award for voluntary provision of legal services to low-income clients. Ms. Vartanian is also the recipient of the Outstanding Service Award presented by the Legal Aid Society of San Diego.
Education
Ms. Vartanian earned her Bachelor of Arts Degree in English from the University of California, Los Angeles, in 1998 and her Juris Doctor degree from California Western School of Law in 2002.

Ms. Vartanian is licensed to practice law before the Supreme Court of California, the United States District Court for the Central District of California and the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit. She is a member of the American Immigration Lawyers Association, and the Los Angeles County Bar Association, Immigration Section.
