Lorella Thomas Hess is an Associate Attorney with Reeves Miller Zhang & Diza. She joined the firm’s Pasadena office in 2016.
Before joining RMZD, Ms. Hess worked with a Los Angeles firm specializing in difficult asylum cases, where she gained experience with proceedings before U.S. Citizenship & Immigration Services, Immigration Court, the Board of Immigration Appeals, and the Ninth Circuit. She also completed a post-bar fellowship with the Ventura County Public Defender in Veterans Court. As a law student, Ms. Hess served as a judicial intern with the High Court of Uganda and interned at a chambers of family law barristers in London.
Attorney Hess graduated cum laude from Pepperdine University School of Law in 2015 with a Juris Doctor degree and Certificates in Dispute Resolution and International & Comparative Law. She earned a Bachelor of Arts from Yale University in 1982 and a Master of Arts from Duke University in 1984.
Admissions and Memberships
Attorney Hess was admitted to the California Bar in December 2015 and is authorized to practice immigration law throughout the United States. She is a member of the American Immigration Lawyers Association and of the Los Angeles and Ventura County Bar Associations. She is also admitted to practice before the California Supreme Court; the U.S. District Court, Central District of California; and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit.
